WHAT IS NA IN MAY?
NA IN MAY is a campvention/bbq contest that was started in
1989 by the Free to Be home group as a BBQ Contest at Shelby Forest
State Park with proceeds going to VRC as a fundraiser.
Members decided to come together and show each other how to have good
clean fun and compete in a BBQ contest together.
Through the years, the event became a 3 day weekend on the first weekend of May.
Keeping with the original BBQ contest theme, workshops and
speakers were added to make the event a weekend for all addicts.
The event stayed at Shelby Forrest National Park until 2023 when the area
moved it to St. Columba Retreat Center.
This event is family friendly and besides members from the area,
and surrounding regions, we have members from local treatment
centers come join us free of charge so that we may give away what
we have been so freely given.
The event is now a West Tennessee NA Area fundraiser and provides our Basic Text at a subsidized rate of $7 to all members.
